A senior public servant is being investigated following the death of his wife after an argument at a nightclub in  Port Moresby last week. National Capital District Metropolitan Superintendent Benjamin Turi said yesterday said that detectives were awaiting a post-mortem report.
According to police report, the suspect and his wife were drinking alcohol at a club in Gordon when they had an argument.
The suspect allegedly broke a wine bottle on his wife’s face, resulting in a deep cut to her nose.  He then took her to a private hospital but she died while undergoing treatment.
Meanwhile, a suspect is now in custody for allegedly knifing another man during an argument at Saraga settlement last Thursday. The two men were among a group listening to election updates on a radio but argued over the progressive scores of their candidates and the suspect stabbed the victim.
