The Oil Search Women’s Network (OWN) has donated 19 boxes of reading material and children’s clothing to three schools near Lake Kutubu in Southern Highlands.
Students and teachers of Kutubu Secondary School, Baiwa Elementary School and Ibibi Kindergarten received the items.
The books and clothes, mostly donated by Oil Search staff, were collected via donation drives organised by the women’s network.
Kutubu Secondary School principal Bai Irabo expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the network.
“I must express my gratitude to OWN for the much-needed reading material that will go a long way to educating the children of Kutubu”, Irabo said.
OWN representative Elizabeth Bo said: “I encourage you all to pick up a book and read, reading will help you better understand the world around you and through reading you will acquire knowledge which will help you to achieve your goals.
