World Vision welcomes financial year

WORLD Vision staff members around the world closed the old year and welcomed the new financial year.
This year, Prayer Day came early in PNG as the offices in Port Moresby, Madang, the Autonomous Region of Bougainville, Western and Morobe observed the day on Sept 30 in their own styles with songs, performances, drama, quiz and fun games.
World Vision staff in Madang observed the day by visiting the Modilon General Hospital children’s ward and putting a smile on their faces as they sang along, shared refreshments and presented gifts..
It was a time for prayer and reflection on how the year went for each staff in their work as well as in their personal lives and seeking God’s guidance in the 2017 financial year.
Country programme director Heather MacLeod thanked all staff for being part of the organisation in their various roles in bringing about change for children in Papua New Guinea, while encouraging them to each do their work and in accordance with the organisation’s core values of being Christians, being stewards, being committed to the poor, valuing others and being responsive to serve communities, families and children.
She said with the outstanding support from all the staff members and their dedication to their work has brought about a lot of smiles.
The theme of this year’s Prayer Day was For every child, life in all its fullness.
