A BUSINESSMAN in East Sepik has called on the government to enforce the death penalty to deter the escalating law and order problems.

Niu Sepik Cocoa Growers managing director Henry Takombe was commenting on the recent killing of an Australian man and the raping of his girlfriend in Mt Hagen.

“If someone takes away an innocent life, he must be hanged or electrocuted,” Takombe said.

He said such inhumane and barbaric acts spoiled the image of the country.
