A LOCAL level government president in East Sepik has blamed the slackness in service delivery in the province on constant changes of key public servants in the administration over the years.
West Yangoru LLG president Manuel Ganai said public servants should be allowed to perform their duty without political influence.
Ganai issued a statement after hearing that yet another change was looming, that of the provincial treasurer who had served just nine months.
“This province has not moved yet in terms of service delivery,” he said.
“I believe it will only change when the Yangoru-Saussia district changes because the district is now under the leadership of MP Richard Maru, the presidents and the administrators who are very cooperative.
“I call on the provincial government not to recall redundant public servants back into the administration because they had their time in office but failed to deliver. So where is the logic in recalling them?”
