MOUNT Hagen city manager Pious Pim said the K700,000 Government grant each year for operations was insufficient to do everything at once.

Pim denied receiving funding support from the MPs in the province, including Hagen MP William Duma, to help in the city’s operation.

However, Pim confirmed that Duma bought a backhoe and a Nissan utility before the 2012 election and gave K60,000 to each  urban council wards.

Pim said he had no idea where the backhoe and the Nissan utility were.  “I cannot deny the truth if MP Duma has given the funding and who received it and on which areas it was spent,” he said.

“I can say that I know nothing of any support.”
