‘Let Bible be your guide’

WHEN teaching people to comply with judgements, the courts must also encourage them to abide by God’s judgements in the Holy Bible, a magistrate in Kokopo says.
Magistrate Albert Daniels was speaking to lawyers, magistrates, judges, Correctional Services and police officers last Friday during the legal year opening at the Foursquare Church at Raniolo in Kokopo, East New Britain.
“As we teach our people to comply with judgements from our various courts this year, similarly, we must encourage them to abide in the safety of God’s judgement, written in the Holy Bible,” he said.
“Unlike judgements written by the judiciary, the words written in the inspired Word of God will judge you and I at the judgement seat of Christ,” he said.
“As we begin to serve our people according to God’s righteousness and justice, God’s higher standard lifts our performance to another level.”
Daniels said there was a need to encourage creative thinkers, builders, entrepreneurs at all levels.
“We must challenge ourselves and the systems we employ to be industrious and deliver service at improved levels this year.
“We must be prepared to go beyond our perceived limits to realise a better tomorrow in health services, education, sustainable electrification, sustainable use of marine and forest resources and legal service, and whether in court or alternative dispute resolution arena, we must work,” he said.
Daniels said if the last 40 years of the nation’s short history was to be the yardstick, then there should not be another 40 years of a repeat of what has been experienced.
