‘Project agreement signed not valid’

WARIA Valley Eco-Homes (WVEH) board of directors are questioning the validity of the memorandum of agreement (MoA) signed between the Huon Gulf district administration and WVEH.
Board chairman Giria Zia questioned the manager title held by Dusty Zamunu without “the
board’s knowledge”.
“The WVEH executive understands that Mr Zamunu is one of the village development trust (VDT) technical staff.
“With some understanding between VDT and WVEH, he was engaged to assist WVEH in some technical areas of the project and not as manager,” Mr Zia said.
He said he and his board members were denied access to the contents of the MoA, before it was signed.
Mr Zamunu had led WVEH to sign the contract to build 14 teachers’ houses in various schools in the Huon Gulf district at a cost of K20,000 per house.
