‘Water crisis over’

PNG Waterboard says Lae’s water crisis is finally over.
The Waterboard office in Lae advised customers that it had finally installed and ran the new bore pump at Bore 3 at 2.20pm yesterday.
A statement said: “We will do pressure test tonight to confirm the water pressure.
“Otherwise according to flow readings taken, the water supply is now fully restored and will meet the total demand for Lae at 26 mega litres per day.”
