102 receive honours for community services

GOVERNOR-General Sir Bob Dadae,pictured, has announced that 102 people have been honoured this New Year.
In a statement, Sir Bob congratulated the recipients under 11 different categories for their years of service to communities.
A Catholic priest under the Capuchin order and the Bishop of Kimbe in West New Britain, Bill Feywill, was awarded the Grand Companion of the Order of Logohu and conferred the title of Chief.
Rev Daryl Boyd from the Lutheran Church is awarded the Companion of the Order of Star of Melanesian.
The Order of Logohu is awarded to Rev Dick Avi, of the United Church; Fr Stanislaw Kilarski, of the Catholic Church; Rev Malil Saulgaria, of the Lutheran Church; and Dr James Aiwa, Kairo Aubeta, Aisi Baupua, Sr Mary Ruth Bayard, Joseph Direkoro, Carl Rowen Van Den Haspel, Jackson Kaumana, Maino Koloa, Sr Marie Duchesne Lavin, Rev Ponaka Lepatu, Beremu Zaccheus Sesiguoc and Robin Tarere.

  • The Logohu Medal: Raphael Banakato, John Andrew Bellinger, Vebuloya Eveto, John Gende, Timothy Hisung, Konol Kingi, Bafua Kombati, Andrew Pemp, Victor Tolopel, Pr Maison Warakwina and Charles Win.
  • The Cross of Medical Service Medal: Maori Noella Tabu, Martin Tine and Ignas Wali.
  • For services to the PNG Defence Force navy: Willie Jack Galia, Lieutenant Colonel Dick Kandapaki, CWO Robson Pendorr Bade, CWO Amos David, CWO Simon Hsrembe, Dominic Kensi, CWO Samuel Timmy and WO Terence Beri will receive the Distinguished Military Service medal.
  • Distinguished Police Service Medal: Chief Supt Joseph Poma, Chief Inspectors Moses Ibsagi and Daniel Pipingan, Senior Sergeant Florence Rosemary Kerris, Sergeant Thomas Moiyang and Senior Constable William Wek.
  • Distinguished Correctional Services Medal: Deputy Commissioner Dennis Piandi, Assistant Commissioner David Kanumbon, Acting Commander Raymond Gideon and Anis Natusere.
  • The Meritorious Public Service Medal: Serah Akia, Hoea Apopo, Linus Bau, Mathew Donaipa, Omatt Gaitu, David Israel, Enosh Jonduo, Kawage Kendey, Ilaua Maikere, Michael Masket, James Mirr, John Paumbali, Nelson Lausi Sevesoa, Kurum Sikip, Soiko Sonanu, Ken Sowano and Yawaye Yapus.
