12 to leave for pilot training

A GROUP of 12 students leaving for pilot training in the Philippines has been told to excel in the field and make a difference in the aviation industry after they graduate.

The 12 will leave for the Aero Equipt Aviation in Subic on Friday.

Capt Bruce Paki, the international flight instructor and the vice-president of Aero Equipt Aviation, will take the second batch of students consisting of 11 boys and one girl to the Philippines.

Paki hosted a farewell reception for them with their parents on Sunday in Port Moresby.

The students signed a memorandum of agreement on the code of conduct witnessed by their parents.

Paki said it was the first step the students were taking to become pilots.

The students pledged in front of their families, sponsors and friends that they would abide by the code of conduct.

He said the agreement signed was to promote transparent relationship among the AEA, cadet pilots and their sponsors to enhance trust and honesty.

“The relationship between the code of conduct, trust and network leads to success,” he said.

“The code of conduct is the set of guidelines to direct you in the right path. Trust is the faith someone has in you to successfully get the job done.”
