14 Lutheran and United church women to attend Aussie meet

FOURTEEN women from the Evangelical Lutheran church of Papua New Guinea (ELCPNG) and the United church are among woman leaders from the Pacific Island countries attending an International Women’s Convention in Melbourne, Australia.
The women, who represented various districts, congregations and institutions left on Sept 21 and are currently participating in a week-long conference, which started on Sept 27.
The convention had been expected to draw participants from all corners of the world to discuss issues revolve around life and work of women today in the church based on the theme: “Teach me your way” taken from Psalm 86: 11.
While in Australia, the PNG group is expected to visit bush fire victims, homes of the elderly, women and children care centres.
They will also be taking the opportunity to attend a three-day synod for the Australian women before returning home.
