THE home of rugby league, Lloyd Robson Oval, will come alive on Sunday when the Port Moresby Rugby league competition kicks off its pre-season with a Nines challenge.
Twenty teams will be competing for the next two weeks followed by the finals to be held in the third week.
The competition will be held only on Sundays due to the PNG Football Association, who are using the venue to host the Telikom Cup National Soccer League challenge on Saturdays.
Tournament coordinator, Greg Kauri, said newcomers and suburban league champions Kone Storms would be making their presence felt.
Invitational teams, Masta Mak Eagles from Hanuabada, Nine Mile Dogs, southern regional nines champions, LB Tornados, and runners-up Rovanama will also be competing.
All  Port Moresby rugby league clubs have put their hands up to compete in the event on Sunday.
However, Kauri added that all teams had yet to pay up their K250 registration fees.
