THE Papua New Guinea Rugby Football League has extended the deadline for association membership and player registrations  for the 2016 season.

Representatives of the 44 affiliated leagues agreed that the deadline for the league affiliation fee of K500 be set to March 31 and any league that failed to comply would be automatically deregistered by PNGRFL.

The deadline for player and official registration fee of K50 is May 31 and all leagues and clubs have been urged to adhere to the resolutions passed.

PNGRFL chairman Sandis Tsaka and CEO Bob Cutmore said these decisions were passed by the affiliates and all should abide by them and not late affiliation or registration would be tolerated.

Tsaka said Cutmore would issue affiliation certificates to leagues recognised by PNGRFL to participate in national programmes and events.

“These affiliates will have to produce their deposit butt to Cutmore to confirm their affiliation payments so certificates are delivered accordingly.”

Tsaka warned leagues that PNGRFL would not extend the deadline because it would only delay the process of securing cover with the nominated insurance company. He said players were not insured last year because registration forms were not properly submitted to regional confederates.
