24 teams set to compete in Momase Cup

TWENTY-FOUR associations will be taking part in the 39th Momase soccer cup challenge in September.
The 24 associations will be coming from, Morobe, Madang, Wewak and Vanimo.
Momase regional soccer federation chairman John Peka could not confirm the venue last week.
However, he said it would either be held in Kaiapit, Morobe or Madang. The venue for the tournament will be made soon.
Peka said the event which was early set for last month had been scheduled for September. It will be held on Sept 13-19.
The teams that qualified from these associations are Bulolo, Gaifar, Guguruf, Onga-Wafa, Atzera, Nadzab, Markham Bris, Nasuapum, Finchhafen, Boana and Huon (Morobe), Madang Bogia, Saidor, Karkar, Sungilba and Walium (Madang), Wewak, Angoram, Maprik and Wosera-Gawi (East Sepik), Lumi, Aitape, Vanimo and Waramu (West Sepik).
Peka said each association is expected to submit their requirements which include constitution, bylaws, code of ethics and association structure.
He also said each association should pay a K500 to the Momase regional soccer federation.
He added that of the amount, K300 would go towards nomination while the balance would be affiliation fee.
The fee should be paid to the federation’s ANZ account no. 11607456.

Michael Suanika and Joe Yakuinga are the federation’s secretary and treasurer respectively.
Peka said other regional coordinators are John Gringo in Madang, Terence Moka in Wewak and Erick Saking in West Sepik.
