THIRTY cyclists are among 50 participants from around PNG who have already registered for the Tour Long Malangan in New Ireland on June 11-12.
Hosts, New Ireland, will be fielding 10 cyclists who are yet to be selected from a trial race to be held on Sunday at the Fangalava Junction and finishing at Utu High School in the Kavieng.
The trial is a qualifier to select the best 10 cyclists to represent the province in the event.
New Ireland Tourism Promotional Authority Cultural representative Bianca Meli said intending cyclists should to pay a K50 registration fee as the required maximum number of cyclists was 25 to trial for the New Ireland cycling team.
“It is a first-come first-serve basis, regardless of gender but age will be restricted,” Meli said.
She said it would be an annual event in the provincial Tourism Promotion Authority calendar.
