30 women get call-up for training

 PORT Moresby Soccer Association yesterday announced a 30-woman strong training squad for the Under-17 and Under-20 national soccer cham­pionships next month. 

Head coach Kevin David announced the squad and their first  training session is at 4pm today at the Bisini soccer ground.

Alisondra Elijah, Joy Getsi, La­vinga Hola, Lanita Aifa (Mungkas), Davina Nuata, Ramona Lawrence (Rapatona),  May Mogi, Schola Morabang, Norisha Sasha Wesley, Jolly Banaga (University), Winora Yariyar (Maclaren), Samantha Don, Mericah Simon, Beverly Yariyari, Brewnna Yaugira, Shondie Dumbu (Baggars), Elizabeth Elizah, Yaing Gai, Jane Lekson, Damaris Seruba (Defence), Catherine Petrus, Mathilda Pagal, Andrew Yuki, Nandi (PS Ruts), Wilma Vogi.

The coach is Kevin David 

PNG Football Association secretary-general Dimirit Mileng said Lae would host the Under-17 tournament for both men and women while Goroka would host the Under-10 cham­pionships for both boys and girls.

The Lae championships is from July 2-5 while the Goroka championships is from July 9-12.

Mileng said the PNGFA was now making a second call to member associations to begin the process of nominating the respective teams for the Under-17 and Under-20 tournaments.  

Niugini Table Birds is the main sponsor with a package of K35,000.
