A GROUP of 40 under-privileged children have started classes –thanks to the support of individuals and organisations.
Life PNG Care national director Collin Pake, whose family looks after many of these children, thanked everyone who helped.
Pake said when classes began on Monday, Feb 2, the 40 children in Port Moresby were able to go to school. “I cannot do this alone. I need individuals and businesses to help sustain this Strongim Pikinini Education programme,” he said.
He said the Life PNG Care he ran was for “orphaned and vulnerable children”.
He thanked everyone who assisted “in cash and kind towards sending these children’s school uniforms, shoes, stationeries and fees”.
“Their help will go a long way in changing the lives of these children to be better people in future.”
He said some of the children had been living on the street for years and were happy to be taken in by his family at their home at Gerehu.
Pake said because of lack of accommodation, he was looking after 22 children at his home while the other 18 were living with their relatives.
