DOCKERS will look to continue their strong form when they face University Tigers in round 12 of the Moni Plus-sponsored Port Moresby Australian Football League at the Colts Oval on Sunday.
Boosted by their new uniforms, they buried a strong Cats outfit 5.6 (36) to 4.0 (24) in round 11.
But the Tigers have made strides since round one, and will look to give Dockers a run for their money.
The Tigers put ladder leaders Bismark Maritime West Eagles under a lot of pressure two weeks ago before conceding defeat.
Brothers John and Max Lavai will be crucial to the Tigers’ attack with support from Vergil Evere and Andrew Lai.
The Tigers’ tower of strength in the forward line will be Douglas Lai Jr and Colin Slim.
Dockers, however, are seasoned campaigners, and will push for a win to retain their second spot.
Coach Samuel Ila will count on Emmaus Wartovo, Emmanuel Tupia, Archie Mai Jr, John Vincent, Jason Logi, Thaddeus Wilket, Sebastian Gelu and Stanis Isu.
In the main match on Sunday, the unbeaten West Eagles will face another stiff test against a rejuvenated Gordon Kokofas outfit who clawed Gereka Bombers 5.4 (34) to 1.0 (6) in round 11. In the women’s match on Sunday, TSI and Lamana-backed Dockers look set to upset ladder leaders Concept Koboni. In tomorrow’s matches, Cats will look to cruise past the Bombers in the earlier match while in the main match will see Gerehu Magpies battle rookies Port Power.
In the women’s matches, the Magpies play Kokofas while West Eagles will look to sink the Tigers.
Alavana Swans will host Koboni at Raukele Oval in Hula village.
