FORTY-one people received baptism while 50 others gave their lives to Jesus during a week-long church gathering in Baiyer, Western Highlands, last week.
The opening of the K100, 000 Mun Assemblies of God (AOG) Church was a blessing for the local Kumdi tribe members, who were privileged to have the presence of senior pastor Rev Tony Dalaka.
Members of the Mun AOG Church chartered a helicopter to transport Dalaka from Mt Hagen to preach the Gospel.
Mun AOG pastor Steven Bakri said seeing people baptised and giving their lives to God was a good sign.
“We need to face the challenges and beat the forces of darkness to win souls into God’s kingdom,” he said.
Bakri said people contributed cash and food items to support the day.
“God wants us to reach out and spread his gospel to win souls. We have a duty to play as Christians. We have to build holiness and give ourselves completely to God,” Bakri said.
