FIFTY-FOUR students attending the Eco Pacific Tourism (EPT) institute graduated with certificates during the institution’s fifth graduation ceremony in Lae on Friday.
EPT is located at Nadzab and offers certificate and diploma courses in aviation studies.
The certificate courses are in ticketing, airline operation, logistic/customs freight forwarding, office administration, operational health, safety and security, ports and shipping operation, business operation management, communication arts and media studies and a diploma course in international airline operations.
EPT director Alphonse Foimae said there were almost 100 students enrolled at the institute but some had withdrawn during the state of emergency.
“Eco Pacific Tourism came from humble beginnings in 2015 when it started in the bush of Nadzab where it held its first graduation. In 2018 to 2019 we started off officially the Lae campus and this is our fifth intake and last week the new Kavieng office was opened,” Foimae said.
“The future of Eco Pacific Tourism is big. We call ourselves a small fish in the big pond but we will eventually grow.
“We try to enforce through our students a sense of commitment on top of technical outputs.”
