EIGHTY teams will compete in this year’s Corporate Netball competition which is set to kick off on Jan 24 at the Rita Flynn Courts.
During the trials yesterday, Brian Bell, Nambawan Supa, Kenmore, Fairdeal Liquors and Esco showed that this season’s competition would be tough.
In the match between Brian Bell and Nambawan Supa, the two sides went neck-to-neck until the final stages.
As anticipated, it was a battle of the two tough teams in the competition, with Mr Bs girls led by their veteran goal shooter Lina Raka and PNG representative Caroline Genaia (GA), powering their girls to a nail biting 7-6 lead at the half-time break.
Their opponents, with Peiru Digori (GA), had their chances earlier in the game potting almost every ball to rally and level the scores 10-10 midway through the second half.
