A letter to our future leaders

Letters

THIS is a call to the future representatives of the people after this general election.
We know that most of our people missed out in voting.
We know that the Electoral Commission and the Government failed in most of their duties.
We know that most of our people and candidates are not satisfied with this election.
Across the nation, polling has been delayed.
These are all signs of poor leadership and corruption.
However, my message to you is about fulfilling your promises and not making excuses during your time in office.
To those of you that are successful, the people choose you because they believe in you.
You carried out awareness in your communities and towns, as well as on social media, especially facebook.
The people trust you and believe that you are the one that will help them, that will live up to their expectations.
You are the one who is going to help fix their communities and provide them with opportunities.
You are the one who is going to bring about change.
Being a leader is not an easy responsibility.
You are going to be criticised if you do not deliver according to your policies.
You are going to be blamed for the underdevelopment in your electorate and province.
However, it is a must that you have to fulfil your promises.
If you don’t, that will be your downfall in the next general election.
Do not forget those who voted for you.
Remember, it’s not just your family that voted for you.
There are people that have no connection to you at all that put you in office.
Do not concentrate your attention only on your relatives like what most have done.
Do not hide your face from the people.
Be the change you promised to be.
Finally, do not betray your people and nation by serving foreign interests.
This is our nation.
This is our home.
With the power you are given, use it for the betterment of our nation.
