A wise govt manages its resources effectively

IS our government wise, effective and honest?
For three decades, PNG was able to govern itself. But is our government system effective?
If you think it is, then look at the poor conditions of our hospitals and health care throughout the country, with the lack of medicines and equipment, people dying of curable diseases, health centres often shut down and medical staff frequently on strike due to pay problems.
We are encountering similar problems with other state-run departments such as education, transportation, justice, defence, police, housing, communication, treasury, agriculture, labour and commerce.
We need a government which has the ability to govern skilfully the practical affairs of our everyday life and manage our resources wisely so that we would not have to depend too much on foreign aid.
It could impose strict laws and control the extraction of oil, gas, mineral ores, timber and fish so that our future generations will have something to live off.
Very soon we will find that foreigners are clearing out our forests so fast that we would be left with nothing in the end.
Mining and oil-gas companies are going to dig up our country that in the future, half of our land mass would be buried under the Pacific Ocean.
This is being done with the blessings of dishonest government ministers, parliamentarians and their cronies who con their own people into selling their own resources.
We need honest leaders with the integrity to govern the people.
Be wise and think carefully before you vote.
