Abal happy with takeover

 FORMER Wabag MP Sam Abal has welcomed Prime Minister Peter O’Neill’s decision for Government to take over the Wabag Market.

Abal said the decision to assume responsibility of the half-built market was his intention when he was the MP. He praised the O’Neill for the initiative, adding that the people had suffered for years and needed such interventions from the Government. 

“He (O’Neill) is a Prime Minister who has seen the plight of the people in this district and I applaud him for being conscious,” Abal said

He said his plan to build a vegetable depot and a chicken factory failed when he lost his seat. 

Abal said the construction remained incomplete since the time he was ousted from power as contractors were not paid.
