GOVERNMENT agencies have until June to complete their annual reports, says Deputy Prime Minister and Treasurer Charles Abel.
Acknowledging the agencies which have already presented their reports, Abel told Parliament yesterday that Finance Minister James Marape would present the status of the annual reports in Parliament.
“I encourage everyone in this parliament, in your respective responsibilities, heads of agencies members of staff, State-owned entities to do your very best to make sure that your reporting is up to date. One of the points in the 100-day plan was that by June effectively as possible to bring all our agencies’ reporting up to date as required by law.”
He said agencies performed a very important function and provide critical roles.
“I acknowledge the difficult task that the auditor-general faces in the huge task he has to do to audit all the finances of the different agencies and it is important that we support him and his staff . I will ensure that all agencies under the Treasury department do likewise.”
