Abel lauds churches for work
The National, Monday September 7th, 2015
NATIONAL Planning and Monitoring Minister Charles Abel has commended churches for their commitment in delivering services to the rural communities around the country.
The minister expressed his appreciation during an interim meeting between members of Church Development Council (CDC) in preparation for a council meeting last Sunday in Port Moresby.
The CDC consists of various faith-based organisations actively involved in providing health and education services.
These include mainstream churches like the Catholic Church, United, Anglican, Lutheran, Salvation Army and the Evangelical Alliance of PNG.
CDC members partnered with the Government under the Church-State partnership programme to provide health and education services to rural PNG.
