ABG gets K22.5mil

THE Government last week gave K22.5 million to the Autonomous Region of Bougainville for specific programmes to be implemented by its government.
Works Minister Michael Nali handed over K9.5m to his ABG counterpart to pay contractors Covec and Dekenai to complete the two roads they are working on.
Fisheries and Marine Resources Minister Dr Lino Tom handed over a cheque for K5m for various ABG programmes.
Bougainville Affairs Minister Sir Puka Temu gave two cheques totalling K8 million – K2mil to the Arawa School of Nursing and K6mil to help the work of the Bougainville Referendum Commission.
Sir Puka said K1.5million from the K6mil was to help the Bougainville Referendum Commission and K4.5mil for security-related work by the ABG and the commission.
