ABG swears in Kaetavara as new public service minister

THE Autonomous Bougainville Government (ABG) has a new Public Service Minister with member for Baba constituency in South Bougainville’s Bana district, Emmanuel Kaetavara, sworn in yesterday.He replaces late Melvin Wilolopa. ABG President Ishmael Toroama acknowledged Wilolopa for his service and highlighted his contribution in the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Pacific Institute of Leadership and Governance to build Bougainville’s public service capacity.“In any government, change will always be required to foster solidarity, stability and maintaining the integrity of the government,” he said.“This change in cabinet is required to maintain the confidence and trust our people have in the government to effectively deliver services and to ensure our resolve for an independent Bougainville is not compromised.”Toroama said that he had faith in Kaetavara to deliver despite being a first time MP
