Abort the judicial act
The National, Friday 30th March 2012
AMENDING and passing laws without proper awareness is uncalled
for.
How can laws of this land be made overnight and who has the authority to do so?
This is terrifying as some MPs are illiterate with an average of Grade 10 qualification, who do not even fully understand their role in parliament.
They find it difficult to define their responsibilities and I doubt if most of them can even understand the first paragraph of a proposed bill.
This results in bills being passed without debate and unanimously passed by the majority, only to serve the interests of a few.
I appeal to all MPs to reconsider the judicial act and let common sense prevail.
Do not defend it as our judicial system is at stake.
If we need to uphold the Constitution ourselves, then we are ready to do so.
