AN accountant appeared before Waigani Committal Court Magistrate Tracy Ganaii last Friday, in relation to 12 allegations of fraud levelled against him.
Alfred Terep is facing four counts of false pretence, four counts of forgery and four counts of uttering allegedly committed in 2018.
Terep, 50, of Wanois village in Wabag, Enga, was alleged to have, on March 27, 2018, knowingly and fraudulently forged a meeting minute by writing the signature of Kotipap Security Ltd director Larson Talian and presented it to the Investment Promotion Authority (IPA) and removed Talian as the director of the company with intent to defraud.
It was alleged that in August 2017, Terep and Talian incorporated a security company (Kotipap Security Ltd) on a 50 per cent share-holding basis which was registered with IPA.
Police files indicated that on March 27, 2018, Terep, without Talian’s consent, allegedly conducted an extraordinary meeting of directors and resolved to remove Talian as a director and have his shares in the company transferred to him.
He allegedly signed the minute as chairman and forged Talian’s signature and signed as the director.
He then lodged IPA form 16, notice of change of directors and particulars of directors and ceased Talian as director without notifying him.
He lied to the security industry office that Talian had left the company and applied for a renewal of security licence on Dec 12, 2018. The case was adjourned to April 21 and his bail was extended.
