THE accounting fraternity has worked to ensure it stays up to date with the latest methods and strategies, Certified Practicing Accountants (CPA) PNG executive director Yuwak Tau says.
A two-day CPA workshop held in Lae, Morobe, ended last Friday.
The workshop’s theme was “Organisational culture in a digital age”.
Tau said experts shared their knowledge on accounting which was also a part of developing the body’s members.
He said CPA had a membership of 6,997 which included students and those in the workforce.
“We have also received positive responses from the Government to work together in up-skilling accountants,” Tau said.
CPA chairman of membership, ethics and disciplinary and principal of Gore Consultants, James Gore said they were looking at ways to up-skill public sector accountants.
“District accountants have been moved to upgrade.
“Some have completed courses at UPNG (Univeristy of Papua New Guinea) and will go through exams to be recognised by CPA,” Gore said.
