SRI Lankan teenager Jalini Jeyapathy stunned an audience with her acrobatic moves during the International Training Institute graduation in Port Moresby last Friday.
Jeyapathy, 15, a Grade 10 student at Marianneville Secondary School near Port Moresby, told The National that she did not learn the acrobatic moves in school.
“I was born with it,” she said. “When I was a baby, my mum always rubbed oil on my body, messaging my legs and hands and bending them.
“I grew up naturally being flexible at twisting and turning my body. My three sisters can do acrobat stunts.”
Jeyapathy said performing at the graduation was the first time for her to display her skills in public.
“I normally just do this at home, in school or birthday parties in front of family and friends.”
Her mum Anna Jeyapathy said she did not train her daughters to be flexible as such.
“It just happened,” she said.
She always messaged the legs and hands of her four daughters before bathing them when they were young.
