The Public-Private Partnership Act is beneficial as it helps the Government deliver services to the people with the help of private organisations, Western Governor Ati Wobiro says.

He presented his 2014 Provincial Support Improvement Programme fund acquittals to the Department of Implementation and Rural Development (DIRD) on June 29.

About K11,000 used on projects and the remaining money was carried over to this year.

Speaking at the presentation, Wobiro said: “The partnership makes it compulsory for MPs to partner with private organisations to effectively deliver goods and services to the people.

“It has indeed been a real workable solution in the administration of funds and implementation of projects.”

Wobiro thanked development partners in the province, which had partnered with the Fly River Provincial Government to deliver services to the people.

He said some of their project partners were Youth With a Mission Pacific and World Vision PNG.

They helped deliver health services to isolated areas.

He thanked the Government for the Provincial Improvement Programme funds for the province and its districts.

Department of Implementation and Rural Development’s Mamose and Highland regions first assistant secretary Anna Igo thanked Wobiro for his initiatives and funds.

Igo said the department was ready to assist Wobiro and his government in technical needs.
