A PUBLIC forum is for tomorrow near the National Archives oval in Waigani to discuss political issues.
The main item on the agenda will be to advise acting Prime Minister Sam Abal and sacked Minister Don Polye to leave aside their differences and work together.
The forum will be chaired by civil society and coalition leader, Noel Anjo.
Anjo yesterday said he had met with NCD police metropolitan commander Supt Joseph Tondop who assured him police would provide security during the forum.
But Tondop said he had yet to confirm police assistance as he had not received any written programme on the forum.
Anjo said a petition would be given to Abal and other senior ministers for the appointment of a permanent prime minister as it was not proper under the constitution for Abal to remain in an acting capacity for too long.
“We want the government to engage two medical doctors to advise and update parliament on the medical condition of Prime Minister Sir Michael Somare and for an immediate appointment of a permanent prime minister,” Anjo said.
He said Abal, Polye and Duma would be petitioned to leave aside their differences and work together during the remaining months for the stability of the government.
