Address land deals
The National, Wednesday March 26th, 2014
MOROBE leaders must rise up from slumber to support Governor Kelly Naru and address dubious land deal issues in Lae city, former Lae City Lord Mayor James Khay says.
Khay supported the initiative by Lands and Physical Planning Minister Benny Allan and Naru to uncover all land deals.
Secretary Romilus Kila-Pat, Allan and Naru were critical over individuals, companies, investors and public servants acquiring prime reserved land through illegal processes last Friday,.
Khay said that no Papua New Guinea naturalised citizen can go to the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, America, Australia and elsewhere around the world and buy land like peanuts.
“How come so-called investors and companies come to PNG and buy three to five prime land parcels which is illogical,” Khay said.
