THE National Soccer League’s top four is not cut and dried after lowly Admiralty thrashed Port Moresby 3-0 at the Correctional Institutional Services Training Oval at Bomana on Saturday.

This is Admiralty’s biggest winning margin against any team in the Telikom-sponsored competition.

A goal by striker Pettyson Elizah in the opening half and a double to Rodney Mobiha in the second (half) was enough to send Port Moresby packing for the afternoon.

The win saw Admiralty move to fifth spot ahead of Oro, who were thrashed 6-0 by Lae City Dwellers in Lae over the weekend.

Despite the big win, Lae remain in second spot with 19 points, one point behind Hekari (20).

The defending premiers have the bye and are in Suva, Fiji, for the Oceania Champions League challenge.

With two games remaining, Oro has a mountain to climb if it is to sneak into the finals as it did last year.

Lae have yet to play Hekari in the second half of the season but their clash now looms as a fight for the minor premiership.

If the Peter Gunemba-side wins their remaining two matches, they could be the first club to bag the minor title, apart from Hekari, as well as a ticket to the 2016 Oceania Football Confederation Champions League.

Madang grabbed the third spot after brushing off a strong challenge from Besta United, winning 3-2 at Laiwaden Oval in Madang.

The Foxes host Oro this weekend and play their last game against Admiralty in Port Moresby. Francis Moiyap’s team is aiming to win their remaining two matches and qualify for the finals in their first year back.  Standings: Hekari 20, Lae City 19, Madang 14, FC POM 12, Admiralty 10 Oro 10, Besta 7.
