Admiration for Sir Peter Ipatas

Letters

QUOTES of prominent leaders who lived in the past and their legacies provide guidance and direction to mankind in the likes of Mohammad Gandhi of India, Jeffery F Kennedy of United States, Nelson Mandela of South Africa, and others with the vision to shape the future of humanity to some extent are well recorded.
One does not need to go far in order to learn the basics of becoming a good political leader, and leave a legacy behind.
Currently here in PNG, one leader who stands out amongst the many is the Enga Governor Sir Peter Ipatas.
Sir Peters’ outstanding leadership is very much admired by good thinking people of this nation, and it is reflective of a visionary leader who delivers tangible development projects that have maximum benefit to the people of Enga.
Sir Peters’ leadership started at a lower level and he climbed up the leadership ladder/steps progressively to where he is now, the Governor of a province.
A lot of lessons learnt and experiences gained through him providing an outstanding leadership in his province of Enga, and those practices can be duplicated throughout PNG, to ensure the rest of PNG catches up with Enga.
Hence, it would be more fitting for Sir Ipatas to end his political career if he is given an opportunity to become the CEO of our nation PNG.
Start low and ends high, a legacy to be imitated and applied for future generations.
Since VONC is few days away, the time is right now for the elected leaders to shift the course for the good of this resourceful and beautiful nation which we gained from our colonisers on a golden plate.
If the defecting MPs from the ruling party and opposition MPs are struggling to identify a suitable candidate for PM, the tip here is Sir Peter Ipatas.
