The National,Monday 19th November, 2012
MORE than 20,000 books and Bibles were sold during a book sale hosted by the Adventist Book Centre on Nov 11 in Port Moresby.
But it wasn’t just the books that were a seller.
More than 2,000 gospel CDs and DVDs were also sold.
The organisers said this year’s sale was much bigger than last year.
Adventist Book Centre supervisor Elvina Billy said a huge crowd turned up to buy books, Bibles, hymnals, children’s books, book cases, activity books for children and youth.
“The huge crowd witnessed last Sunday was somewhat similar to last year’s however, this year’s purchased quantity was more than what experienced last year 2011,” she said.
“Indeed our Good Lord was at work and we are praying that everything that has gone out into the hands of each person will take root as the Holy Spirit waters the seeds being planted,” she said.
“We look forward to another exciting one in 2013 and continue to pray that as we all team up in advancing the gospel story through the book ministry that more and more souls can be saved and God’s kingdom expanded.” The book sale was held at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church headquarters at Ela Beach, Port Moresby.
