A SEVENTH-day Adventist missionary will contest the Kapalku ward 2 council seat in the Nondugl local level government, North Waghi, Jiwaka.

Kapal Seine, a missionary attached to the Julka Organised church, has decided to contest the seat vacated by Kunda Kui.

Seine said he had answered God’s call to serve his people and this time he had decided to answer the call to serve the people through community leadership.

“It is equally important to serve God through the church network and through community leadership,” Seine said.

“I see no reason why church leaders should stay away from politics. I believe church leaders are in a better position to lead the people in a more transparent and accountable manner.

“I call on like-minded laymen or pastors to consider serving their people through political leaderships.”

Seine said he believed in true leadership embedded in the Word of God.

“It is time we try out god-fearing leaders to prove their credibility of prudent management,” he said.
