THE Adventure Park in Port Moresby is expected to also feature animals, uch as giraffes, brought in from South Africa, according to National Capital District Governor Powes Parkop.
Parkop revealed this yesterday during the opening of a dinosaur park inside Adventure Park at 14-Mile.
He said they were now waiting for biosecurity clearance from Customs before getting the African animals and birds over.
He yesterday opened the new K400,000 Dinosaur Adventure with Moresby South MP Justin Tkatchenko as a joint venture.
He told students from the Butuka Elementary School who attended that the new facility was provided for their enjoyment.
No entry fees will be charged, he said.
“It is basically to promote the extinction of dinosaurs that lived thousands of years ago,” he said.
“Children can read and learn from the catalogue display at the park.
“Dinosaur parks are seen in movies like Disneyland. Similar parks are also available in China and Australia.
“We want to adapt this here and let our kids experience it.”
He said the Adventure Park was to promote conservation, preservation and education – for children and family members to enjoy and learn about animals.
