Adviser hails head teacher for good management

EASTERN Highlands education adviser Thomas Jonduo commended Gama Lutheran Primary School in Goroka for prudent school management, resulting in development of basic infrastructures.
Jonduo was in the school to open a newly built four-in-one double classrooms.
He praised head teacher Gibson Sokondowe, school board chairman Ronnie Neinepa, staff and parents for the excellent effort that resulted in a number of basic school infrastructure development.
“If all the 220 schools in Eastern Highlands has a head teacher like Sokondowe, education programme in this province will move forward,” Jonduo said.
“I want more Sokondowes in the schools, I acknowledge the request of the community to retain the head teacher.”
He appealed to parents, teachers and stakeholders to take care of the school as they had an excellent school, which was progressing smoothly.
Sokondowe said the new classroom was built for more than K31,000, it will be used by Grade 8 classes.
He said it was already completed ahead of schedule time frame.
He said they were working closely with two remote schools in the Wesan area of Goroka district at the border of Eastern Highlands and Madang to develop them.
Neinepa urged the people to support the school and thanked them for respecting the school.
He said they could prosper in life when they had education.
