NORTHERN provincial health adviser Copeland Ihove said the health division, including Popondetta General Hospital, has not received any reports of the mysterious disease that is claiming lives along the upper Musa area in the Owen Stanley Range.

“We are still trying to establish radio contact with the people in the area to confirm the reports. We did not receive any reports of the disease from the affected areas until the media reported on it,” Ihove said last Thursday.

He said communication was only through VHF radio but the transmission was not clear.
