THE PNG NRL Bid announced this week that Avenell Engineering Systems (AES) have pledged sponsorship towards the Ela Motors Legends Of League match next month.
In a unique sponsorship AES will be cleaning up the main grandstand and other areas of the playing venue at Lloyd Robson Oval in preparation for the match.
AES is a locally-owned company who have operated in PNG since 1956.
They offer a diverse range of services to their clients including civil and building construction, quarry and concrete products, prefabricated buildings and electrical services.
The majority of labour for the work at Lloyd Robson Oval will be footballers as they have a personal interest in doing a good job and can reflect on their achievements on a regular basis.
AES currently employ current Kumuls Richard Kambo and Larson Marabe with the intention of providing them with a career after football rather then just a job.
They have also recently employed Vipers and Emerging XIII young gun Noel Joel and are always on the look out for more footballers to employ who meet the three A’s (Attitude, Ambition and Ability).
Bid CEO Brad Tassell said it was a great show of support from AES: “It is important to us that the venue is in the best possible shape for the event particularly for our sponsors.
“Through the Bids involvement with AES we are investing significant funds and effort into certain areas of the venue.
“The main grandstand is reserved for corporate seating only which is the only seating which can be pre purchased before the match.
“The grandstand and bar area will be cleaned up, repainted, toilets repaired and other general work done to improve the venue leading up to the match.
“Work has already commenced and some will be completed prior to the Kumuls vs Bati game with the majority finished before the Legends kick off on Nov 19.”
