PARADISE Foods Limited has re-committed its K150,000 annual sponsorship of Australia Football League Papua New Guinea’s (AFLPNG) Smart Start Niukick programme for another three years.
AFLPNG chairman Ekonia Peni and Interim Paradise Foods Limited Group chief executive Ben Wong signed the contract between the two parties last Wednesday.
The signing was witnessed by group marketing manager Roger Harwood, sponsorships and promotions manager Nicola Ani and Pacific AFL development manager Ben Drew.
“Paradise Foods is happy to continue its sponsorship of the Niukick programme as it is a professionally-run sport that spoke to 80,000 children in PNG in 2019 and 18,000 more since the Coronavirus outbreak,” the group said in a statement yesterday.
“The Smart Start NiuKick programme is run throughout the country in schools, communities and churches, focusing on kids, aged between seven and 15.
“It teaches basic skills of the sport and also on basic hygiene habits in line with the Niupela Pasin measures.”
A significant change to the sponsorship is the change from the emNAU Biscuit brand to the Smart Start Breakfast Biscuit brand.
Harwood said it made sense as the brand spoke to the same target market.
Drew thanked Paradise Foods Limited for its continued support of the Niukick programme.
