AFL PNG names Binatangs hopefuls

 AFL PNG has announced 40 players for the Under-16 Binatangs train-on squad, from the initial selection that was made throughout Papua New Guinea, during the Talent Camps, held at the end of last year.

Close to 100 talents were identified from the Coca Cola sponsored camps, in Port Moresby, Lae and Kavieng.

These boys are currently training and being monitored before a final selection for the squad is made.

The final selection will see a list of 25 players confirmed to form the U16 PNG Binatangs that will travel to the South Pacific Cup in Coffs Harbour, New South Wales, Australia for the competition from April 11-16. U16 Binatangs squad: Southern: Kila Rawali, Ricky Hokari, Lesley Mcllvie, John Susuve, Kataha Siwee, Hosea Ephraim, Wartovo, Lawrence Rodion Kavanamur, Vincent Logo, Huksey Ehava, Giliab and Junior Philipus. Nothern: Thomas Wakon, Ephraim Ken, Gilmore Morehari, Paniel Penias, Jemasol Paira, Kenneth Suava Jan, Michael Kumai Boas, Samuel Kenjau, Kelly Kaugla, Kepas Matrus, Elton Palei, David Roy, Billy Yawasing, Trendol Soten, and Peter Lavong. Highlands: Ben Kias, Gideon Peter and Ian Maliaba. Kavieng: Mitchell Williams, Jeremiah Saupaii, Junior Walten, and Justin Bate. Islands: Galemo Buckley, Cyril Baki, Ronald Kalkal, Iggy Roka, Jackson Albert Nawi, Samuel Tupia, Richard Junior Walu and Moses Pa’ak.
