Having exceeded its’ 2,500 target in term one, AFL PNG is set to beat another record breaking figure this term, as it continues to infiltrate into schools in the nation’s capital with its Niukick program.

At least 6,000 primary school students, with the inclusion of adult students from the Anglicare adult literacy school, have had a chance to learn basic footy skills and learn about the game – Aussie Rules – in term one alone.

AFL PNG had set a 2, 500 target for each term but that figure was exceeded beyond expectation.

The non-profit sporting organisation hopes to beat that target again in term two.

Although it is two weeks behind schedule, it will start visiting primary schools in NCD, including Tokarara, June Valley, Maranatha College, St John’s Primary School Morata Primary School, Ororo Primary School, Car Memorial, Gerehu Primary School, Kopkop College, Philip Arevure, Waigani Primary, Noblett Primary and Boreboa Primary School.
