TWO Schools in Central have been identified to be used as sports academies, Central Governor Robert Agarobe says.
He said this during the Central Provincial Development Forum held in Port Moresby on Tuesday.

The Central provincial government has already taken over the Central Dabaris rugby league franchise and made it a subsidiary with plans to do a similar arrangement for soccer with the creation of the Dabari soccer franchise.
Governor Agarobe said his administration wanted use sport to complement education programmes.
“We have already signed a programme with Yarowari to become our rugby league academy,” he said.
Agarobe added that the Dabaris would be based in Sogeri.
“It’s isolated, it has a higher altitude, it’s a good training area for our team, and at the same time we do this programme with Yarowari were we are now looking at signing agreement upgrade the Yarowari rugby field to PNG Rugby Football League standard, and have that as the Dabaris home ground,” he said.
The governor said there would also be a pathway for talent from the districts to make it into the Dabaris and exposure to the Digicel Cup.
He said the province’s soccer academy would be located at Kwikila Secondary School.
He said players could attend school and also be part of an elite soccer team.
He said this would also provide players a chance to get scouted by National Soccer League franchises.
