THE signing of a memorandum of agreement between the West Pomio Mamusi local level government and the Department of Provincial and Local Level Government Affairs recently for the implementation of the rural service development project is set to usher in development.
The signing, in Pomio, East New Britain, was attended by representatives from the department and the administration.
ENB deputy governor Cosmas Bauk said the programme focused on the ward level which was in line with their plans for developing the province’s four districts.
He said it was time to re-set and refocus attention and development down at the grassroots level.
“This is the new focus for the province and we will fix and empower this province,” he said.
“This is just the start and I encourage the officers to work together as a team to implement these RSDP projects.”
The programme will see K4 million worth of projects rolled out in wards in four selected LLGs across the province’s four districts.
Bauk acknowledged Pomio MP Elias Kapavore for having East New Britain be one of five pilot provinces where the programme would be rolled out.
