Fabian Lulopo from Gulf graduated on Monday from Anhui Agricultural University (AAU) in China. The 27-year-old from Moveave in Malalaua graduated with an advanced degree in Agriculture Research Science.
The AAU is located in Hefei, the capital city of Anhui Province of China. AAU has a long history of specialising in agriculture and forestry.
Lulopo was on a Chinese government scholarship.
He studied and lived in China for six years.
He said he was excited to be an agricultural researcher in PNG.
“I look forward to the opportunity to work with small-scale farmers in crop generation,” Lulopo said.
“I believe sustainable agriculture is the key for our food security and that will require research and experiment which is the
experience I hope to utilise in PNG.”
The CSC is the Chinese Ministry of Education’s non-profit organisation which provides student financial aid to Chinese citizens and foreigners to study abroad or in China.
Lulopo also completed a one-year Chinese language course at Tongji University in Shanghai in 2014.
He is fluent in Mandarin which is widely spoken in China.
Lulopo returns to PNG in July this year.
